Now, the strawberries were absolutely delectable on their own. But, I did also happen to have a can of whipped cream that I was saving for a special occasion. What a better place to use it than on top of strawberries?!? So, after making my own version of bisquick, or at least trying, we had a nice treat: Strawberry Shortcake.

Some people were wondering if we would be able to watch the SuperBowl. We didn't think so. Of course, we were missing the usual festivities of snacks, friends, and commercials, and we were only expecting to watch highlights on the internet the next day. Well, to our surprise and delight, we turned on our TV on our Monday morning and went to one of the sports channels. Sure enough, there it was--the game was there, and it was LIVE!

We are on week one out of six with no breaks (except for the weekend), so small surprises like this are a real joy.
Let us know how you are doing! We'd love to hear what is happening back at home!

go jen! the strawberry shortcake looks lovely and yummy! i know the joy of presenting something pretty and sweet to your husband and watching them devour it happily.
and i'm glad you got to see the superbowl. we might as well have been in Korea b/c we were oblivious to the fact it was happening...until i checked my facebook later that night...
as far as news from us, we're awaiting the arrival of Fowler number Four and having trouble sleeping til then. At least I am. Thanks for updating--we'll talk more soon!
Ben, Nate put up 185 on the bench. I'm thinking he'll hit 200 within the next month. It's great to see his consistency paying off. Now if we could all only do that amount in kilos!
Redeemer had the superbowl party at Troutmiller's again (missed having you guys there). Jason was the only one cheering for Pitt! Heard you are going to become and Uncle and Aunt! We're fighting a flu bug (so far only one has it).Love hearing how things are going.
haha! i remember watching the superbowl overseas! because of the time difference, it was on at like 8am Monday morning. i sat there alone, wearing my PJs, eating oatmeal for breakfast, and becoming increasingly annoyed at the excited Chinese sports announcers. i put the tv on mute, watched the game in silence for about 5 minutes, and then realized it wasn't worth it :o)
